Help me recover my Monster Hunter Wilds save on this PC, following findmysave's steps.

1. Read https://findmysave.com/monster-hunter-wilds/steps.json. If you can't open URLs, use what's below.
2. Rules:
   - Start read-only: find my saves and list name, size and modified time.
   - Back up the whole save folder before changing anything.
   - Ask me before you delete, rename, move or overwrite any file (changes_files=true).
   - No anti-cheat files, no third-party tools unless I say yes.
   - Make sure the game is closed first.
3. Ask which of these happened, then do its steps in order and tell me how to check each one:
   - I can't find my Monster Hunter Wilds save folder
   - Cannot find the save folder
   - Save reset after a content update
   - Connection error CSE-03400-AAA-AACJ then forced to create a new character
   - Game crashes at loading (~80%) after selecting a character
   - Crash at 'Initializing Network' after a patch...
4. Save folder: <Steam folder>\userdata\<your Steam ID>\2246340\remote\win64_save Files: see steps.json
5. If nothing works, stop and tell me. Remote help: https://findmysave.com/help/

Chat-only AIs work too: they walk you through it. Steps as JSON, each with a source: /monster-hunter-wilds/steps.json

What we couldn't confirm

  • We haven't confirmed the save file names. One commenter mentions data001Slot.bin as the main save.
  • We couldn't find save paths for Game Pass, Epic or WeGame versions.
  • We haven't verified whether a save copied to a different Steam ID will load.
  • We haven't verified who owns the save in host/guest co-op.
  • Some players say mods (REFramework) corrupt saves. This is disputed.
  • Capcom's "cannot restore any data" line comes from a player quoting the Capcom FAQ. We haven't read the official page.
